Reflect for iPhone · Last updated: September 2026

Reflect is a Screen Time app that lets you set per-app session limits and daily session counts. This policy describes what data Reflect handles and what it doesn't.

The short version: Reflect does not collect any data. It does not phone home. It does not have an account system. Everything the app creates stays on your iPhone, in Apple's standard App Group storage. If you delete Reflect, the data is gone.

What stays on your device

Reflect stores the following, all locally, in your iPhone's App Group:

All of this lives in your iPhone's App Group container. If you delete the app, the data is deleted.

What does not leave your device

Nothing. Reflect makes zero network requests in its current version. There is:

The Canvas integration, when enabled, contacts Canvas's API at the URL you provide, solely to fetch your assignments. No data is sent to any party other than Canvas itself.

Screen Time framework

Reflect uses Apple's Screen Time framework (Family Controls) to apply limits. The framework is local to iOS and managed by Apple. Reflect does not collect, transmit, or store any data outside of what you explicitly configure in the app.

Keychain backup

Reflect can optionally mirror your data to the iOS Keychain so that if you reinstall the app, your settings can be restored. This is local to your device. You can disable this by deleting and reinstalling the app. The keychain data is excluded from the user-data backup blob to avoid coupling token lifetime to data-restore cycles.

Children

Reflect is intended for users 13 and over. If a parent uses Reflect on a family-shared iPad for a child under 13, all data is still stored locally on the device. There is no server-side collection of any user data, child or otherwise.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the update will be reflected in the next App Store release notes for Reflect. The current version is always available at this URL.
